AVALANCHE SKILLS TRAINING LEVEL 1 (AST1)
Avalanche Canada Training courses are the national standard for recreational avalanche training and industrial natural resources training. The courses are designed by Avalanche Canada to suit the needs of recreational users.
Canada Backcountry Services is licensed by Avalanche Canada to deliver this training. We take pride in the experiential training we offer that considers every person’s unique perspective so that you get the most out of your AST1 with us.
An AST 1 is a minimum of one field day combined with 7-8 hours of classroom theory. At Canada Backcountry Services we offer live online training to accommodate people in different physical locations and to get the theory done prior to the week to optimize our weekend time.
